Aston Martin Valhalla Spider Hits 217 MPH (Roof Optional)
Most convertibles come with a deal you didn't ask for. Take the roof off, lose some speed, gain a sunburn. Aston Martin says its new one skips the first part.
The British carmaker unveiled the Aston Martin Valhalla Spider on October 28, 2026, and showed it to the public for the first time over the weekend at the Concours at Wynn Las Vegas. It's the open-top version of the Valhalla, Aston's first mid-engined supercar, and Aston says no open-top car in its history has been faster.
The numbers are silly. A 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 teams up with three electric motors for 1,079 PS in total, about 1,064 horsepower. Top speed is 217 mph (350 km/h), and Aston says you get all of it with the roof off.
That's faster than a passenger jet when its wheels leave the runway. Except here your hair is part of the experience.

Now, the roof. The standard one is black fabric, and you take it off by hand. Leave it on and the car limits you to 124 mph.
So the cheapest part of a million-dollar car is the one deciding how fast you go. If you want a lid and the full 217 mph, there's an optional carbon hardtop.
There's also a wind deflector that clips onto the top of the windscreen. When you don't need it, it folds into three pieces and hides in two new 15-litre cubbies in the sills. The car still has no proper boot.
That's one gym bag per side. For a car that costs more than most houses.
Aston Martin CEO Adrian Hallmark sells it with a simple line: "Rain or shine. Roof on or roof off."
Personally, I think this is the Valhalla that should have come first. A mid-engined Aston with no roof is the kind of car people stop on the sidewalk to film.
But careful: Aston Martin hasn't announced a price yet. The coupe started at around $1.05 million, so don't expect the Spider to be cheaper. Most build slots are also reportedly already taken, and deliveries only start in the third quarter of 2027.
Over a million dollars, 217 mph, and you still have to check the weather app before leaving the house.
