Apple Drops New Macs and iPads, but the iPhone Duo Keeps Cracking

Apple launched an M6 MacBook Pro, an M6 iMac and an OLED iPad mini this week, while iPhone Duo owners report inner screens cracking within days.

This week Apple decided to bombard us with new products. MacBook, iMac, iPad, an iPhone update... all new, all more powerful. But there's one problem: their most expensive phone is destroying itself!

First, the new 14-inch MacBook Pro comes with the M6 chip, up to 30% faster graphics, up to 24 hours of battery and a price starting at $1,999. The new iMac also gets the M6, starting at $1,499.

Then there's the iPad mini, now with an OLED screen, IP67 water resistance, the A20 Pro chip and a $699 price.

Meanwhile, iOS 27.2 brings the smarter Siri to more languages, including French, Spanish, Japanese, Korean and Portuguese, and fixes over 160 security issues.

But all of this is being overshadowed by the iPhone Duo.

Remember Apple's foldable phone we talked about before?

Well, things are getting serious.

Lots of owners are reporting screens that get damaged after just a few hours or days. Some hear a crack when they open the phone and then find a split in the screen. Others complain about a deep crease in the middle and display problems.

And we're talking about a phone that costs around $2,000!

Apple has even admitted it knows about a problem affecting the inner screen of some units.

Now, personally, I've seen a lot of complaints this week, and I wouldn't recommend buying the first-generation iPhone Duo.

Because this is exactly why you don't rush into the first generation of a new technology. Let others find the problems, let Apple fix them, and then we talk about buying.

After all, when you pay $2,000 for a phone that folds, you expect the screen to fold. Not to break!
